Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller

The Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller is an integral role at ScribbleLive and will report to the Director of Finance. You manage a team of 3 staff accountants and be responsible for the full accounting cycle of the company’s corporate consolidated group of companies. Multi-entity consolidation experience, multi-jurisdictional experience, integrity, strong attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a high growth company are crucial for this role.

You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team as well as your peers in operations, technology, marketing and sales.


  • Completing all aspects of financial accounting including journal entry preparation, cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed asset amortization and other general ledger account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Preparing periodic management reporting, including cash management and forecasting reports, actual vs budget analysis, international development cost summaries and other reports as required.
  • Participating in month- and year-end closing procedures, which includes reconciliation of a multi-entity consolidation, inter-company journal entries, and preparing consolidated balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements for multiple entities within the global group of companies.
  • Generating supporting schedules and reconciliations to accompany the company’s consolidated financial statements.
  • Experience with multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange translations and revaluations is required.
  • Maintaining all accounting records and general ledgers including legal, banking, government and regulatory filings.
  • Acting as the company liaison for accounting issues with banking regulators, external auditors, and affiliate companies of the organization.


  • CA or CPA designation would be nice but not necessary.
  • A solid 3+ years of professional or industry experience would be preferable
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, tax filings, maintaining general ledgers, accounting policies and internal controls is essential
  • Must be knowledgeable with NetSuite
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, IFRS necessary
  • Excellent communication skills, initiative, team building and interpersonal skills
  • Organized with an ability to balance multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, sumif, vlookup, index/match)
  • Start-up experience is a huge plus.
